Core Privacy Promise: 100% Client-Side In-Browser Execution
LineCounter AI operates on an uncompromising zero-data-retention model. When you paste text, source code files, or image screenshots into our tools, all calculations (line counting, SLOC metrics, OCR extraction, word frequency, and formatting) execute strictly inside your local browser memory. No user content is ever uploaded, logged, inspected, or stored on remote servers.
01.Introduction & Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how LineCounter AI ("we", "us", or "our"), accessible at https://linecounterai.com, handles data when you use our online line counting, source code SLOC analysis, optical character recognition (OCR), and text manipulation tools.
We are committed to preserving your fundamental right to privacy. Unlike traditional web converters and developer tools that send input payloads to backend APIs, LineCounter AI is architected as a standalone client-side Web application.
02.Information We Do NOT Collect
When utilizing any feature of LineCounter AI, we do NOT collect, intercept, inspect, or retain:
- Text & Code Content: Any plain text, poems, essays, articles, or source code snippets you paste into the editor.
- Uploaded Files: Any text, CSV, JSON, Markdown, or source code files selected via the upload dialog.
- Images & Screenshots: Any images or clipboard screenshots processed by the OCR engine.
- Exported Results: The transformed or analyzed outputs you copy or download.
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not require account registration, passwords, email signups, phone numbers, or billing info.
03.Information Collected Automatically (Web Telemetry)
Like virtually all modern web properties, we collect limited, non-identifying aggregated technical metrics to maintain website security, optimize server performance, and understand general usage trends:
Aggregated pageviews, bounce rates, referral sources, and approximate country-level location via Google Analytics (with IP anonymization enabled).
Standard HTTP request headers (browser type, operating system, TLS version) processed transiently by Cloudflare to block malicious DDoS traffic.
04.Cookies & Browser Local Storage
LineCounter AI utilizes browser storage mechanisms strictly for functional and analytical purposes:
- Local Storage (localStorage): We store your UI preferences—such as your Dark/Light theme toggle, wrap settings, and selected tab mode—directly in your browser's local sandbox. This data never leaves your device.
- Analytics Cookies: Google Analytics may place first-party cookies (e.g.,
_ga,_gid) to differentiate unique visitor sessions across page navigations without capturing personal identities.
You can configure your web browser to reject cookies or purge local storage at any time via your browser settings without impacting core line counting features.
05.Advertising & Google AdSense Disclosures
To keep LineCounter AI 100% free for everyone without subscriptions or paywalls, we may display unobtrusive advertisements served by third-party ad networks, including Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to LineCounter AI and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or through the AboutAds.info choices portal.
06.Data Protection Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA Compliance)
We adhere to global privacy principles, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA):
Under GDPR: You have the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal data held about you, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we do not store your input data or maintain user accounts, no identifiable user records exist on our systems to modify or delete.
Under CCPA/CPRA: California residents have the right to know what personal data is collected and request deletion. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties.
07.Children's Privacy Protection (COPPA)
LineCounter AI does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.
08.Data Security & Encryption
All web traffic to and from LineCounter AI is secured with modern 256-bit TLS/SSL encryption (HTTPS). Content security policies, strict transport security (HSTS), and isolated browser sandbox execution ensure your local operations remain shielded from cross-site scripting risks.
09.Updates to This Policy & Contact Information
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical improvements or legal requirements. Updates will be posted directly to this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
